Hydrosol is as close to the lavender plant as essential oil. Both products are produced on our farm using steam distillation. The old ‘oil and water don’t mix’ phrase is how we get our oil (top layer) and hydrosol (bottom layer). Organic volatile material carries with steam and then condenses, producing the two layers. Hydrosol is often referred to as ‘floral water’ because it has the same, lavender essential oil benefits, but in a less concentrated form than the 100% essential oil. It smells likes fresh lavender with floral notes. Suggested uses: household cleaner, yoga mat spray, perfume mist, and in your diffuser.
